Manchester United are targeting a move for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria, according to reports in Germany.
The United manager has already admitted that he is keen to bolster his squad in the January transfer window.
‘We’re one or two players light, and we’ve said that, but if the right ones are available in January then we might do something,’ Solskjaer told Sky Sports.
And according to Bild, United are among the teams who are in the race to sign Zakaria.
The report also claims that the Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder is wanted by Tottenham, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Inter.
Zakaria primarily plays as a defensive midfielder for Monchengladbach and the Swizterland international could be viewed as a potential long-term replacement for Nemanja Matic, who has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford.
Zakaria’s current contract with Monchengladbach expires in 2022, while the Bundesliga club will reportedly demand at least €50 million (£42.7m).
