Transfer Deal: Mourinho To Hijack Ibrahimovic From Inter Milan

New Spurs boss, Jose Mourinho is reportedly attempting to hijack Inter Milan’s transfer talks to Zlatan Ibrahimovic and bring him to Tottenham.

Ibrahimovic, who has completed his two-year spell at LA Galaxy, is currently available for a free transfer.

His agent, Mino Raiola, held talks with Inter Milan on Wednesday, according to Italian sources. But a deal is unlikely to be signed as the striker wants a higher wage.

There were talks linking the 38- year old striker to Manchester United but Old Trafford have already come out to debunk such talks.

Mourinho signed Ibrahimovic for Manchester United in 2016 where the Swede scored 26 goals in 46 appearances before a serious knee injury that almost ended his career.

Mourinho has also worked with Ibrahimovic when he was boss at Inter Milan in 2008-2010 and values his professionalism and winning mentality.

However, it is unlikely that Ibrahimovic will be a first starter for Tottenham while Harry Kane is already there.

Again, Mourinho isn’t so keen to have Ibrahimovic in his team as he had promised, Spurs President Daniel Levy, that he will not be demanding in the transfer market.

“I told them that one of the reasons why I decided to come was the players,” he said. “I tried to buy some of them for different clubs and I couldn’t.

“Some of them I didn’t even try because you know how impossible it is.

“But I like this squad very, very much. I like the players very, very much. It’s not something new that I said that.

“It’s not like ‘OK, now you are their manager you are saying that because you want to look nice’. That’s not the point.

“I don’t want to make big changes. I want to respect the base and the base is the work they did for 5½ years [under Mauricio Pochettino].”
