Mourinho Reveals What He Asked Out-Of-Form Dele Alli

Jose Mourinho has revealed what he asked Tottenham star, Dele Alli since he became Spurs coach.

The Portuguese was made Spurs manager on Wednesday after Mauricio Pochettino was sacked on Tuesday night.

He has since addressed the squad and worked closely with Alli to bring out his best form.

Speaking ahead of his first game in charge of Tottenham against West Ham on Saturday at the London Stadium, Mourihno revealed he believed in 23-year old Alli’s potential.

He had asked Alli, “Are you Dele or Dele’s brother?”

Alli quickly replied, “I am Dele.”

And Mourihno said to him, “OK, play like Dele.”

‘I already spoke with him,’ Mourinho told Sky Sports. ‘I think he is potentially a fantastic player. Now I have to try to create a tactical situation that he is happy with.

‘I have to give him the right dynamic, prepare him physically well – because he had important injuries too and he’s not on the top of his form.

‘On Saturday, if he plays, I can’t expect him to go there and be man of the match.

‘But (we have) to go through a process that can bring the real Dele back because the real Dele is the one that has impressed us in the past.’

Mourihno hopes to make a great start with a victory for his team on Saturday’s match against West Ham.

Tottenham have had a bad season so far and they are currently 14th in the English Premier League.
