Sergio Aguero scored a hat-trick to surpass two premier league records as Manchester City thrash Aston Villa a whooping 6-1 on Sunday at Villa Park.

Aguero’s second goal made him surpass Arsenal legend Thierry Henry’s record as the highest-scoring foreign striker in Premier League history.

His third goal which is his 12th hat-trick broke Alan Shearer’s record as the most hat-trick scorer in Premier League.

Algeria international Riyad Mahrez scored twice while Gabriel Jesus also scored to make the entire goal of the match 6-0.

Aston Villa managed to score a stoppage time consolation goal through a penalty by Anwar El Ghazi to make it 6-1.

The result means City have resumed the second place in premier league with 14 points behind leaders Liverpool after taking advantage of Leicester’s 2-1 defeat to Southampton. Villa remain at the bottom three.

Next, City host Crystal Palace on Saturday while Villa play an away FA Cup third round against League One strugglers Tranmere Rovers on Tuesday.
