Barcelona To Make Loan Move On Aubameyang

Spanish La Liga giants, Barcelona are reportedly plotting to sign Arsenal captain, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on temporary basis.

The champions are hoping to sign the Gabon international as a possible replacement for the injured Luis Suarez.

According to, Aubameyang who is into the final 18 months of his contract in Arsenal is now being viewed by Nou Camp as a priority before the end of the January transfer window.

The online publication also confirmed that Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu, CEO Oscar Grau, director of football Eric Abidal, technical secretary Ramon Planes and head coach Quique Setien all agreed during talks on Monday night that a striker must be brought in to cover for the injured Luis Suarez.

Suarez will be out of action for four months having undergone an operation on an injury to the lateral meniscus in his right knee.

Aubameyang, who was the joint top scorer in the Premier League last season along with Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, is being targeted by Barcelona on a six-month loan deal.

The Catalans are also known to be making permanent moves on Inter’s striker, Lautaro Martinez.

But that will happen if they convince the Gunners to lend their captain on a six-month loan deal which is likely not going to happen as the North London side are hoping to convince Aubameyang to sign a new contract with them.

Meanwhile, Aubameyang, who is also heavily linked with Real Madrid, have addressed his rumoured potential exit from Arsenal saying, “I would also like to react to some of the rumours that are going around about me in the media. People like making up stories and they should focus on what’s happening on the pitch.

“They talk too much and it does my head in! I am the Arsenal captain. I love this club. I am committed to it and desperate to bring it back to the top, where it belongs.”

Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta has firmly stated that he doesn’t even consider Aubameyang leaving the club in the January transfer window.

Aubameyang is currently serving a red card ban and will miss tonight’s match against Chelsea.
