Super Eagles To Know World Cup Qualifying Group Opponents On Tuesday, Account Hacked

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will be informed of their group opponents in the Second Round of the qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar on Tuesday, January 21 2020, according to

14 winners from the First Round will join Africa’s top-ranked 26 sides in the draw. Super Eagles were among the lot drawn bye in the First Round.

For the second qualifying round, 40 teams will be split into 10 groups of four. Then 10 winners will be drawn against each other in home and away fixtures in which five teams shall advance to Qatar 2022.

Super Eagles have already been placed in Pot 1 against top teams like Senegal, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Cameroon, Ghana and Morocco.

The Pots for second round draw are:

Pot 1: Senegal, Tunisia, Nigeria, Algeria, Morocco, Ghana, Egypt, Cameroon, Mali, the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Pot 2: Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, South Africa, Guinea, Uganda, Cape Verde, Gabon, Benin, Zambia, and the Congo.

Pot 3: Madagascar, Mauritania, Libya, Mozambique, Kenya, Central Africa Republic , Zimbabwe, Niger, Namibia, Guinea-Bissau.

Pot 4: Malawi, Angola, Togo, Sudan, Rwanda, Tanzania, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Liberia, Djibouti.

The draw ceremony will hold at the Carlton Hotel in Cairo, Egypt.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles instagram account have been hacked ahead of the qualifying draw.

The three-time African champions who have over 230,000 followers on the social media platform woke up on Tuesday to see all their contents deleted and replaced with pictures from an unknown stylist and influencer based in Istanbul, Turkey.
