Liverpool 2-1 Wolves: Late Firmino Goal Extend Reds’ EPL Lead

Liverpool extended their premier league lead by three points after Roberto Firmino’s late winner against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Thursday.

Captain Jordan Henderson headed the opening goal for the Reds from Trent Alexander-Arnold’s corner after eight minutes.

But Wolves’ Raul Jimenez glanced in Adama Traore’s cross to equalize six minutes into second half, making it the first goal Liverpool have conceded in the league for more than 12 hours.

Then Firmino shot the winning goal six minutes to full time before substitute Diogo Jota wasted an important opportunity to give Wolves a point with a stoppage time equalizer.

Wolves are the latest victim to fall for Liverpool’s unbeaten run this season, with 22 wins out of 23 games.

The Reds are the third team to go 40 games unbeaten in the Premier League.
