Ndidi Reveals What Mahrez Told Him After Nigeria’s Clash Against Algeria In 2019 AFCON

Super Eagles and Leicester City star, Wilfred Ndidi has revealed what Manchester City star Riyad Mahrez admitted to him after 2019 African Cup Of Nations in which Nigeria lost to Algeria at the semi-finals.

The Algerian international had admitted that Nigeria would have won if the game had gone into extra time because the North African team were tired.

“I don’t want to think about it. Riyad was honest, he said they were tired and if we had gone into extra time the game would have gone in our favour because we are strong.” Ndidi spoke to ESPN journalist Colin Udoh via Instagram.

“Riyad is one player I respect, he’s not strong, you can hardly get the ball from Riyad, he is very tricky.”

Asked if he had spoken to N’Golo Kante whom he replaced at Leicester when the France International moved to Chelsea, Ndidi said:
“I don’t know him (Kante). When I came he was not here so it’s not something for me to do. If you talk about Riyad, yes.”

Ndidi was named Leicester City’s most valuable player in English Premier League.
