Arsenal 3-0 Fulham: Debutants Willian And Gabriel Help Gunners Thrash EPL New Boys

Arsenal debutants Willian and Gabriel Magalhaes got Mikel Arteta’s first full campaign up and running by assisting thrashing Premier League new boys Fulham 3-0 on Saturday at Craven Cottage.

Fulham who waited 489-days following their relegation in 2019, lacked bite despite making the first goal attempt at the beginning through Aboubakar Kamar which was denied by Bernd Leno.

But Arsenal struck back as Alexander Lacazette scored the opening goal at the 9th minute after Willian’s shot was parried by Marek Rodak before a free kick which hit the post.

The Brazilian’s corner kick shortly after halftime was then headed home by fellow debutant and Man Of The Match Magalhaes.

Then Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang curled home a beauty from just inside the box from another Willian assist at the 57th minute to hand Arsenal a dominant opening-day win.

This is now Arteta’s 18th win in the last 30 games.

Arsenal’s victory also means Willian has become the first player to assist two goals on his Premier League debut since Ray Parlour in August 1992 against Liverpool.
