Man Utd Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Confirms Harry Maguire Remains Team Captain

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed Harry Maguire will remain team captain.

27-year-old Maguire was given a three-year suspended prison sentence on the Greek island of Syros for aggravated assault on the police, resisting arrest and repeated bribery attempt.

He maintained his innocence and filed an appeal in which his sentence was nullified.

“He is going to be our captain,” Solskjaer told MUTV.

“He’s handled it really well and, of course, I’ll be here to support him.

“We’ll just leave Harry and his people and the process to run. For me, he is a top, an absolute top human being and has always been a positive guy with the right values. So I really hope we can see Harry performing at his best.”

Maguire will get a full retrial at a senior court.

The world’s most expensive defender was dropped from England squad by Garrett Southgate for this month’s Nations League games against Iceland and Denmark.

However, Southgate has already said Maguire will be called back to the squad next month.
