Suarez Passes Italian Exam Ahead Of Juventus Move

Luis Suarez flew to Italy on Thursday to take a passport exam which he passed as part of preparation to join Juventus for free.

The Uruguayan was one of the Barcelona players given the option to leave the club following a disgraceful outing in last season’s Champions League quarterfinals against Bayern Munich.

Suarez had trained with Barcelona earlier on Thursday morning before taking a private flight to Perugia.

According to Sky Sports, the passport process in Italy can be lengthy and Juventus have also targeted other options, including Roma’s Edin Dzeko.

Juventus are also continuing to monitor Olivier Giroud’s situation at Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Barcelona head coach Koeman has said he doesn’t know if Suarez will leave Nou Camp.

“I’ve spoken to him about his future and we are waiting to see whether or not he leaves, we still don’t know,” Koeman told Catalan network TV3 after the win over Girona.

“But we respect every contract here and if in the end he does not find a club and he stays, he will be just like any other player in the squad.”

Suarez said he will only leave if Barcelona paid for his last contract with the club which ends next year.
