Ozil Snubbed Again In Arsenal’s 25-Man Premier League Squad

Mesut Ozil has been dropped from Arsenal’s 25-man Premier League squad submitted on Tuesday.

It looks like the Gunners are done with Ozil as he was also axed from Mikel Arteta’s UEFA Europa League squad last week.

The World Cup star will likely remain on the sidelines until January at least.

The former Real Madrid star has not been in action for Arsenal since play resumed after the Covid-19 break in March, despite being the Gunners’ highest earner on £350,000 a week.

Oil was initially utilized when Arteta took over from Unai Emery last December.

Sources in the media speculate that he does not suit Arteta’s planned high-intensity pressing game for the squad despite the faded star once being one of the preeminent playmakers of his generation, with a World Cup title to boot.

Ozil, who joined Arsenal from Real Madrid in 2013, was linked to a potential exit from the Emirates this summer but insisted he will stay and fight for his place.

His 350,000 a week wages will make it difficult for any club to sign him until his contract expires in 2021.

Ozil helped Germany win the World Cup title in 2014 and quit the national team following a bitter racism abuse after the team crashed out of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
