AFCON Qualifier: Rohr Claims Sierra Leone Will Be Difficult To Beat

Gernot Rohr has warned the Super Eagles to take the match against Leone Stars seriously as they will be very difficult to beat.

Nigeria will be hosting Sierra Leone on Friday in Benin, Edo State while the reverse fixture will hold at Freetown on November 17.

Nigerian players invited for the match have already arrived Benin and training started on Tuesday night.

According to the report on Complete Sports, Gernot Rohr explained that Sierra Leone also have some good players who will cause trouble for his team.

“We are expecting a tough match because our opponent, Sierra Leone have quality players too. It will not be an easy game because they have professional players.

“My work is to first explain to the players that this will not be an easy game. We cannot underrate this Sierra Leone team.

“We have 16 players today, three goalkeepers and were expecting more. It’s not easy to travel across Europe because we have a lot of restrictions. Not many flights are coming to Nigeria at the moment. Some of the players have to travel through Ethiopia down to Lagos.”

Rohr has been the Super Eagles coach since 2016 and has led the team to the 2018 World Cup in Russia and also the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Meanwhile, Nigeria tops Group L of the Africa Cup Of Nations qualifiers with six points after beating Lesotho and Republic of Benin.
