Rohr, Some Eagles Players Not Good Enough – Aiyegbeni

Former Nigeria striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni has slammed Gernot Rohr and some Super Eagles players for not being “good enough” for the national team.

His attack follows the Eagles dismal double header against Sierra Leone in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in which they managed to get two points out of six.

Rohr’s men threw away a four-goal lead at Benin City on Friday and were held in a goalless draw at Freetown on Tuesday.

Speaking over the phone with Lagos Talks, Aiyegbeni said it is time for the German gaffer to leave the national team as head coach.

“The coach is not good enough, let him go,” the former Everton striker said.

“Some of the boys are not good enough, I don’t know where they are bringing them from. Who is inviting these players?

“Our football is getting worse every day. When I was there, people criticise us, but we’re way better than these ones.

“The coach is not good enough, no clue. Gernot Rohr is one of the worst coaches in our history. He is not good enough.”
