Napoli medical team has accused the Nigerian Super Eagles doctors of aggravating Victor Osimhen’s shoulder injury while attempting to fix it.

Osimhen injured his shoulder during the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone in Benin where he scored in the 4-4 draw.

The Nigerian medical team tried to pop it back into place on the field. But he was eventually removed in the 78th minute of the game and was replaced by Paul Onuachu.

Osimhen was flown back to Napoli to receive further treatments by specialists. However, Tuttosport claims that the shoulder dislocation has fully recovered, but Osimhen still can’t lift his arm properly.

This is allegedly because the incorrect technique used by the Nigerian doctors inflamed a tendon in his shoulder.

This means the 21-year-old will take a longer time to recover which is a big blow for Napoli who need their star striker.

Meanwhile, Osimhen has scored two goals in six Serie A appearances for Napoli since joining from Lille in the summer.
