Saturday’s Premier League game is not the only clash between Manchester United and Manchester City as the English giants fight for the signature of sensational striker, Erling Haaland.

City are reportedly ready to battle bitter rivals United in their bid to sign Haaland who has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford.

The 20-year-old came into the limelight during his stint with German side RB Salzburg before his move to his present club Dortmund in January.

Haaland’s excellent form has attracted several big clubs across Europe as he has so far scored 24 goals in his 27 appearances for Dortmund.

And Guardiola who has signed another two-year contract with City, is determined to strengthen his striking squad and has named Haaland as his target.

Spanish champions Real Madrid have also shown interest in the Norwegian but City are desperate to find a replacement for their all-time highest goalscorer Sergio Aguero whose contract will end in 2021.

Meanwhile, Haaland’s contract expires in 2024 and his deal includes a £68.7million release clause.

His value is estimated at  £91million, with his agent Mino Raiola and family receiving £27million.
