FA Cup: Iwobi In Action As Everton Limp Past Rotherham To Reach Fourth Round

Alex Iwobi was in 60 minutes action as an Abdoulaye Doucoure extra-time winner helped Everton limp past Rotherham 2-1 in the FA Cup third round on Saturday.

Toffees boss Carlo Ancelotti left out top scorer Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison and goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, but their replacements were second-best for much of the 120 minutes at Goodison Park.

Cenk Tosun opened the scoring for the Premier League side in the 9th minute but it was cancelled out by Manchester United academy graduate Matt Olosunde in the 56th minute.

This is Olosunde’s maiden goal in a senior game, having also been awarded a solitary cap for the United States in 2018.

However, substitute Doucoure scored the eventual winner three minutes into the additional period but it was far from comfortable for Ancelotti’s side, who progressed to the fourth round for only the second time in five seasons.
