Ozil Agrees To £282k-A-Week Pay Cut To Seal Arsenal Exit
Mesut Ozil has reportedly agreed to a massive £282k-a-week pay cut to dump Arsenal for Fenerbahce.
The Arsenal outcast who is also the club’s highest earning player at £350,000-a-week will now earn £67,300 at Turkish club Fenerbahce, but he could earn £445k bonus if they win the league.
However, Ozil could reportedly top up his salary with various performance-related bonuses.
If Fenerbahce who are currently second in the Turkish Super Lig win, Ozil will receive £445,000. And if they qualify for next season’s Champions League, which would require a top-two finish, the former Real Madrid star will reportedly receive £222,000.
Ozil moved to Arsenal in 2013 and thrived under Arsene Wenger, winning two FA Cups back-to-back.
But his performances began to drop in quality under subsequent managers until current manager excluded him from this season’s Premier and Europa Leagues.
