Liverpool finally earned their first 2021 Premier League victory after beating Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday night.
The Reds dominated the first half but it looked to be behind inside two minutes when Heung-Min Son ran through and slotted home for the hosts- only for VAR to rule he had been marginally offside.
However, Liverpool got a deserved lead with Roberto Firmino’s strike at half time before Harry Kane who was treated twice by the physio, was substituted.
Then Trent Alexander-Arnold doubled the advantage for Liverpool two minutes after the break before Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg scored for Spurs with a sweet first-time effort.
Mohamed Salah looked like he had extended the lead for the visitors but his effort was ruled out by VAR after spotting a Firmino handball in the build-up.
And nine minutes later, Sadio Mané swept home from a back-to-form Alexander-Arnold delivering a wonderful ball from deep to seal victory for Liverpool and place them fourth on the Premier League table.
