Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has announced his squad for Tuesday’s Champions League last eight tie against Liverpool at the Alfredo Di Stéfano.
According to allnigeriasoccer.com, Zidane left out Nigeria-eligible player Marvin Akinlabi from the 21-man squad and all the players included on the roster are set to be named in the matchday squad barring an injury in the pre-match warm-up.
Akinlabi who suffered an injury on his full La Liga debut against Getafe on February 9, was listed in the Champions League knockout rounds via the List B, consisting of players under 21 years old that have spent at least three seasons at the club.
The 20-year-old impressed for Real Madrid Castilla since recovering from injury just before the international break, opening his account for the season against UD Sanse (March 31), before providing an assist in his next game vs Extremadura UD (April 4).
Marvin Akinlabi also made history as the first Nigeria-eligible player to play competitively for Real Madrid when he made his La Liga debut against Real Sociedad on September 20, 2020.
