Iheanacho Becomes Sixth Nigerian To Score 30 Or More Goals In The Premier League

Leicester City star Kelechi Iheanacho has joined the exclusive club of Nigerian players that have scored 30 and above goals in the premier league.

Iheanacho scored the third goal as Leicester City thrashed West Brom 3-0 on Thursday night Premier league to boost top four post.

Iheanacho’s goal was his ninth in the Premier League and 13th in all competitions this season.

The Nigeria international also surpassed his previous record of eight goals in a league season which was achieved after 26 matches in the 2015-16 campaign at Manchester City.

Iheanacho has now scored 30 goals in 136 appearances for Leicester City and Manchester City which makes him the sixth Nigerian player to reach the 30-goal tally.

Former Everton and Portsmouth striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni top the list with 95 goals while former Newcastle striker Shola Ameobi has 79 goals.

Arsenal legend Nwankwo Kanu is third with 54 goals while former Bournemouth winger Efan Ekoku sits fourth with 52 goals.

And West Brom’s Osaze Odemwingie occupy the fifth position with 36 goals.
