Champions League: Ramos To Return For Real Madrid Against Chelsea

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos will reportedly return for the team ahead of the Champions League semifinal clash against Chelsea.

Ramos had to undergo surgery on a torn meniscus, and went back to the treatment room after appearing for Madrid against Elche on March 13 where he played for 61 minutes.

The Spanish center-back then tested positive for coronavirus but he has since been pictured undergoing training.

The defender’s return to practice sessions sparked optimism that he could return in time for Tuesday’s game, but Spanish outlet AS reports that Zinedine Zidane will instead hope to have him available for the second leg at Stamford Bridge.

The report adds that the Spaniard could be given a run-out in this weekend’s league meeting with Osasuna, which would be the 35-year-old’s 21st appearance of the season during a disrupted campaign.

Ramos, who has just over two months left n his contract, hopes to win his fifth Champions League title with Los Blancos.
