Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers is reportedly not interested in talking to Tottenham Hotspur management over a managerial job.

Rodgers second top candidate after RB Leipzig’s Julian Nagelsmann targeted by Spurs to to take over from Jose Mourinho who was sacked last week.

However, Rodgers believes Leicester have better chances to regularly challenge for European places.

The Foxes have already secured a spot in the FA Cup final and also beat Crystal Palace to strengthen their hold in the Premier League top four.

Spurs, who lost the Carabao Cup final to Manchester City on Sunday, are currently seventh on the Premier League table with five points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.

In addition to this season’s success, Rodgers has real optimism for how his young squad will develop over the coming years as they gain more big-match experience.

When asked last week about speculation linking him to Spurs, Rodgers was quoted on Sky Sports saying: “Tottenham is a fantastic club, it’s one of the big clubs in this country, it’s a huge club. My focus is purely here.

“I’m at a world-class training facility, the project we’re in here, we still want to develop, we still have a lot of work to do here.

“I have a great connection with the players and the board, and we have plans to keep progressing.”

Two wins away at Southampton and at home to Newcastle could secure the top four place for Leicester City if West Ham and Liverpool drop points.
