UCL Semifinal: Man City Fight Back To Beat PSG In First Leg

Manchester City made a brilliant second half comeback to beat Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 in the Champions League semifinal on Wednesday night.

Goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez gave City a two goal advantage despite PSG taking the first lead through Marquinhos’ first half goal.

Mauricio Pottechino, who had dumped Pep Guardiola’s Man City out at the quarter-final stage with Tottenham in 2019, looked to repeat the same performance as PSG dominated the game in the first half.

But City rallied round in the second half and De Bruyne scored the equalizer in the 64th minute while Mahrez made it 2-1 in the 71st minute.

PSG’s problem became more compounded when former Everton player Idrissa Gueye was sent off with a red card and a suspension from the second leg at the Etihad on Tuesday following a reckless tackle on Ilkay Gundogan.

This is Man City’s second ever semifinal in the Champions League and they also are well placed at the halfway stage in their bid to claim their first ever major European title.
