Man Utd Target Wilfred Ndidi As Pogba’s Replacement

Manchester United are reportedly keeping close tabs on Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi as a possible replacement for Paul Pogba this summer.

Pogba’s contract with United will expire next summer. The Frenchman had indicated his desire to leave Old Trafford two years ago but failed to seal a new deal.

His agent Mino Raiola revealed the midfielder was unhappy at United this season.

According to Metro UK, United are preparing for a life without Pogba and made a three-man shortlist that will replace should he fail to agree to new deal this summer.

United risk losing him on a free transfer when his contract ends next summer.

It is believed West Ham United star Declan Rice is top on the Manchester club’s priority list in their hunt for Pogba’s replacement.

Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi and Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez are also on the shortlist.

The development comes just weeks after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed he is keen to have Pogba form part of his long-term plans at Old Trafford. He said:

“I have always said with Paul that I enjoy managing him, I enjoy coaching him, I enjoy talking to him and I also enjoy challenging him because he is a winner.

“He wants to be better and that’s why he listens. You can see he’s enjoying himself here as well. He has a smile on his face. It’s important we treat each other with respect and I try to treat everyone with the same amount of respect.”
